Buy Your Lions Club July 4th Raffle Tickets at Our Office (and elsewhere)

    For decades, the Golden Lions Club has hosted an all-day party in Golden’s Lions Park on July 4th, capped by the City’s fireworks display after dark. Throughout the day, between band performances, tickets are drawn for about 200 prizes donated by local businesses. You don’t have to be present to win. The top prize is $1,000 cash. As a bonus, the back of each ticket is a coupon with a discount at different restaurants, bars & shops! Tickets are $5 for a book of 6. You can buy tickets at our office, or look for Lions selling tickets weekends at King Soopers, the Golden Farmers' Market and outside Windy Saddle Cafe. Proceeds benefit the Lions Club’s Community Betterment Fund.

You Can Support Golden Lions’ and Golden Rotary’s Charitable Efforts

Without joining these two great organizations, as I have, you can still support their many charitable campaigns, both locally and globally.

The Golden Lions Club, once again, is raffling off a new Harley-Davidson Road King motorcycle, which is on display at the Buffalo Rose Saloon in downtown Golden. Only 300 tickets are being sold at $100 each. The drawing is Oct. 29 at 8 pm. The club will pay the sales tax. To buy a ticket, call Ed Dorsey at 303-829-5195. Meanwhile, it’s time to order Palisade peaches from the Golden Rotary Club!  You can order boxes at $37 each online at www.GoldenRotaryPeaches.org. You can also buy them in person at our office (right). The boxes weigh 20 lbs. and contain about 40 peaches.  Pickup is on Saturday, Aug. 27, 8 am to 2 pm at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. If you forget, you’ll get a phone call, and I can hold your boxes at the Golden Real Estate office, 17695 S. Golden Road.

One of Golden’s cherished traditions is the 4th of July raffle, with winners of over 200 donated prizes — including a Superbowl XXXIII football signed by John Elway — announced on stage in Lions Park between performances by various bands. There is a $1,000 cash prize too!  All prizes are donated, so that the proceeds of the raffle support the good works of the Golden Lions Club. You can buy your tickets from any Lions Club member and at the Golden Real Estate office, 17695 S. Golden Road. Tickets are $1 each, or six for $5.
